Garry's JournalTuesday, July 27, 200410:31AM - Last Nightok, yesterday i went down to village music to get new strings for my guitars so i walked down about 1.30, got there and had a chat with Scott, Jamie and Craig because i hadn't seen any of them in about a month or two. they were all really cool to me just as usual, and Scott has a ESP LTD KH-21 which is a top class metal guitar that Kirk from Metallica uses, lol he's a guitar tutor and brought his guitar to get new strings put on it, because of the floyd rose so the strings having to be balanced on the neck. ok so got my strings and left to the key. got there early and met lee from wee ross's party, talked to him for a while. then music group consisted of listening and talking about demos, and finding a new band for the last heat. ah well after i left with dean and rushy, went to the chippy got some food, then went to mcdonalds so rushy could get a meal and i could get a mcflurry, lol. went back up the key, sat and talked for a while with my friends, stuck posters up about the band night this week, emmm oh yeah had a big game of football, the first game was great, the other 2 games weren't as good because we were all knackered, then we left the key, stuck loads of stickers on each other, walked to the bus stop and ian got threatened by some ned. he got the bus with rushy going the wrong way going to straven :S and i got a 20 home with dean and carrie. Current mood: busy Current music: Bad Religion - You Sunday, July 25, 20049:39PM - Todayhey, i woke up about 1 today and watched 2 episodes of bo selecta from season 1, haha i love it so much :) the bear and craig david rule :D anyhoo then i went for a shower and got clean, came out and watched another episode, then went downstairs got some food then decided to tidy my room. took me ages but now it doesn't smell bad so thats always a good thing. i sat around and watched tv for ages watching that new show Run Of The House, it rules so much!! and Fresh Prince Of Bel Air, Futurama and Simpsons, had a fry up for dinner :) and came online to talk to all my friends, ahhh today i didn't do much but it was ok :) nice and relaxing and im just playing guitar and having a rest the now. cya Current mood: creative Current music: me playing some song i just wrote :) Saturday, July 24, 20043:23PM - Last Nighthey, i don't seem up to update this much anymore but here it is anyways :) ok last night i went to the key at 5pm to help set up stuff for the band night, i met rushy and dean at the chippy and we walked up, it was Baz's turn to be working at this point so me and baz went downstairs to get some of the stuff for the band night, dean and rushy came down about 5 mins later, the key's kit is so shocking, the stands are taped up, and there's only like 2 ride cymbals and a broken crash cymbal, argh! oh well me and dean set the kit up and i helped rushy lift the pa speaker up onto the other one. so after an hour the first band arrived, and the rest got here soon after. after all the work was done we sat and talked about random stuff, listened to the bands soundcheck and kev got there as well, so the doors opened at 7 and in came all the people, and i saw emma for the first time in a week! gave her a big hug :) and Neil is back his holidays as well so was talking away to him, he's buying a butterscotch blonde telecaster eugh!!! haha nice guy tho, so basically i was walking around talking to everyone and Assunta, emma's little sister asked me if i was interested in playing guitar in this thing with an 80's pop star called Leo Sayer :S i said yeah tho, why not i guess :D the first band came on reasons for insanity, were alright. 2nd band offtan were a jet/muse rip off and lunar sucked so bad people took their shoes off and threw them at them, hahaha that was funny :D so eventually the bands finished, the first band won. i helped take loads of stuff downstairs then walked to the bus stop with everyone, me and willie made fun of burt :D and then i walked emma home, it was cool coz it'd been ages since we've talked, she talked about andy and is really happy so im happy for her, was good to have a chat, talked about what we'd been up to and stuff, so i walked her to her house, gave her a hug and went away to go get a 20 home since i cant get an 18 anymore, damn buses!!! oh well the night was pretty good :) and i had fun so whooo!!! Current mood: feel like dancing!! :) Current music: Rancid - Red Hot Moon Thursday, July 22, 20042:46PM - Man these last 2 days ruled...hey, just woke up not long ago, had my 18 hours sleep after tuesday's house party in blantyre where we played with kicking buckets and dexter! we got at wee ross's house after getting a 201 bus to a pub near it, we got there about 3.15 and sat in his living room while we waited on John and the rest of kicking buckets with the PA, so we helped bring the drum kit and amps downstairs. John, Big Ross and Paul eventually arrived and we started to set everything up. We went down to the Spar about 7 to get some alcohol, i got 3 of the big bottles of Blue WKD, shev and derek got some bottles of beer. we walked back and set up, we played to some people, some paying not much attention, and some having a listen. we played through our set and we got to our last song the ska song, everybody came in the living room about half way through the song, and they were all dancing, we finished the song and everyone was shouting 'come on, play it again!' it was amazing coz we've never been asked that, ever! so we did and the whole room was skanking, it was amazing, i also went into the crowd while playing and big ross felt my ass, haha! :D then we finished and said 'thank you now we're off to get drunk!'. After a while dexter came on with wee ross drumming for them and no bassist to play a few songs, wee ross was steaming so he kept saying 'im sorry dexter!' haha! then the police came with a noise complaint so i was talking to this girl called heather and we were eventually making out for pretty much the whole night. also i met a girl who recognised me from the cathouse, i was dancing with her! and she remembered, wow, her name's Tasha, she's gorgeous and pretty cool and a full blown alcoholic, lol. hmm let me think what else happened, oh yeah john kissed a guy, haha, emm 4 girls all kissed each other with tongues at the same time that ruled! and sadly KB only got to play a few songs, and we also played a second time because shev and derek went onstage with shev on guitar and derek on drums and we played a few songs with me on bass! kinda drunk tho, haha, yeah we played for the first time ever Judy Is A Punk!! and we played it brilliant!! that made me feel so good, mainly because i didn't know how to play it and just played the same chords as shev, lol. and we played Rock Show by Blink 182. if we played anything else then i can't remember it. I remember for pretty much the whole night i was up playing john's telecaster coz my sg was in ross's room and he was asleep, so i figured out Flogging Molly 'Drunken Lullabys' and was just playing some ska stuff, it was such a fun night. we left at about 9am after getting some badges from john and they offered us another gig at cambuslang uc on the 5th august!! :D so we're playing there soon as well!! we got back about 9.15 and went to mcdonalds and got breakfast meals, sat and ate it then went to HMV i had a look at cds and shev and derek went home, i got in about 11am, and basically sat around the house all day and went to my bed at 7pm. woke up at 12pm the next morning...so much sleep!! now im just chilling out talking to people and having myself a lazy day, cya! Current mood:  goodCurrent music: Kicking Buckets - When Your Down Saturday, July 17, 20044:53PM - Last Night:)hey, woke up pretty early and done nothing, ahhh then about 4.20 i walked down to the key, i went to the chippy and got chips and cheese for my dinner, it ruled, and i helped out setting up for the band night of Forgotten Tomorrow, Camera Kill and Adrenaline. We set all the PA and drums and everything up pretty damn quick and FT were the only band who'd arrived so they soundchecked for ages and i had a shot of Deek's TomDelonge strat, pretty good i must say! so me kev and andy decided to go back down to the chippy, and i just got a bottle of coke and they bought food. walked back up and the other 2 bands had arrived so we quickly soundchecked them and opened the doors at about 7. all my friends showed up and i sat and talked to them for a while, john came back from his holiday as well, so was talking to them. the bands were alright and FT won, was an ok night but a bit boring really... Current mood:  boredCurrent music: Green Day - Macys Day Parade Thursday, July 15, 20047:32PM - Todayhey, today has been not bad i guess. i started writing a new song when i got up, i was looking through some old songs and i found a riff tabbed out that i hadn't used in a song, i started playing it on the SG and it sounds rather good :D so thats me happy, i got an e-mail from GSR guitars about replacement scratchplates for my SG, i can get cool metal or mirror ones from £25 which is pretty damn good :D and oh yeah i watched Around The World In 80 Days with Steve Coogan and Jackie Chan, it was soooo funny, what an amazin film, i also watched Euro Trip last night which was funny at parts but kinda predictable at others. Anyways, i haven't done a lot today but now im just chilling out waiting to have my dinner and listening to this punk compilation i put together. whooo, rock on thursday! Current mood: happyCurrent music: Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabys Tuesday, July 13, 20041:29PM - Yesterday...hey, i woke up about 2pm coz i didnt get a lot of sleep, and i was very tired after the barfly, so i stayed in and sat around most of the day then went to the key at night. i met all the usual people there and i met rushy on the bus, he's staying at his grans this week so now i can get the bus with him to the key. So i got there and they had karaoke on arghh!!!! loads of fat people who cannae sing :( so i played tony at pool and got beat!! i was shocked, ermm and oh yeah we had a big game of football and it was alright except all the wee guys who tend to shoot the wrong way and lose the ball very easily, but all in all it was a good game. i was walking emma, willie and katie home but katie had to be home soon so i walked her up and left emma and willie coz they were walking so slow. cant even remember what we talked about but i just got a 20 home and that was it really. was alright i guess. Current mood: cheerfulCurrent music: Scallywag - Forget The Past Monday, July 12, 20042:55PM - From the best to the worst....Last night officially was one of the worst nights of my life. We were to play at the Barfly with Zynk, Forgotten Tomorrow and Scallywag. I arranged transport with the other bands coz we were bringing the drum kit, and that was all sorted, so i met shev and derek(FT) and we got the train into central station, we met andy from FT and we all walked down to the Barfly, Derek was there already with Zynk and his kit, so we took all the equipment downstairs and set everything up, we stayed and sat around until our soundcheck, we played Dead Friendship as usual then Blitzkrieg Bop coz Scallywag still hadn't showed up. shev, derek and i all went around to mcdonalds to get something to eat, we got these large meals and sat in. We got back, sat around for a while just talking, and eventually the show started, Scallywag played first and were absolutely brilliant, we were up next and we even got rushy up onstage to dance for a song, lol, we didn't play our best but we played a great show. then here's where the night got really bad. Shelley MacKenzie came up to me and said ok pay up, and i was like what? she said we owed her £75 or she was keeping our instruments, so me and shev argued with her for about half an hour, saying we weren't gonna pay £75 and if we did then no other bands would be playing on our kit. eventually she gave us a deal where since we brought equipment we only had to pay £15 between the 3 of us. i panicked so much coz i didn't think we would have made it out with all our equipment, especially since my guitar is worth £330 and it's a month and 1/2 old. after the other bands had played we took apart all the equipment and sat outside and i phoned 3 taxi companies and no-one would come into glasgow, so derek ran to central station and got a taxi while me and shev waited with all the stuff. we packed all the stuff into the taxi and headed back to dereks house where i stayed for half an hour then went home. that was such a scary experience for me, and i don't want to repeat that ever again. Current mood: relievedCurrent music: Green Day - Haha Your Dead Sunday, July 11, 200412:34PM - Yesterday!hi, yesterday i was meeting beth to go into glasgow with claire and her friends, i woke up at 11.45, and i had to quickly get a shower and get dressed, but my mum gave me a lift so i got there about 12.15, 15 mins early, lol. Beth came at half past and we got a 20 into glasgow. it was so funny on the bus because there was this little old man trying to get "close" to beth's friend, haha, it was quite amusing :D we got into glasgow and walked beth's friend to central station then walked to Record Fayre 2(closed now :() to meet claire, she got there a little late but i met jason, cathryn, cath, lauren and sersha and all the rest of em :) we went to mcdonalds first to get something to eat, and then we were in central station talking for ages and walking around glasgow. then at 5.30 we went to queue for the Cathouse, and when we got in we had to go to the metal floor, arghh!! that sucked, then the punk floor opened and we were all fine. it was my first time there so it took me a few songs before i started dancing, it was so much fun and half way through amanda and hazel came in! so i gave them a hug and talked a while, then i met Andy K from Ant Hill Mob(drummer) talked to him for a bit as well. they played blink 182, less than jake, a punk/ska cover of Rio(Duran Duran), ermm....and lots of ska and FFAF/emo stuff. During blink 182 dammit i got a text from ali asking what i was doing so i arranged to meet her at the train station after the cathouse, so once it closed i got my jacket from sersha and walked down to the train station. I was waiting for a while and i called ali to say where are you? she says 'im on the train' lol so i ran over to get the train and i got on and sat with her and her 2 friends, theyd been to see Shrek 2 and ali loved it, we laughed when she was playing this snowboarding game on the NGage, and she told me this story that involved wheelchairs and a car, lol, so they got off the train early and i talked to her friend for a while. i got off the train and got the bus home. that night was soo good :) Current mood: cheerfulCurrent music: Less Than Jake - Gainsville Rock City Saturday, July 10, 200412:32AM - THE BEST NIGHT EVER!!!!hi!! we just won our heat at battle of the bands, it was so amazing, we beat kicking buckets and ant hill mob. i woke up about 12ish and lay around for most of the day, i got a lift with my stuff down to derek's house and shev and derek dyed their hair blue and red, lol. we got a taxi to the key and we played the best show we've ever done...it was amazing, we enjoyed it so much and we made a good impression on the crowd, and it was just amazing! WE WON!! im a little crazy right now when they announced it i was hugging everyone and running around being slightly crazy taking pictures of everyone. I've had like 3 cans of coke and a bottle of it since we finished playing, wow. that was just an outstanding night, hopefully many many more to come!! yas we rock!!!!!!! Current mood:  hyperCurrent music: The Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop Thursday, July 8, 200410:55PM - Today....hi, today was not bad i guess, i got up at 10 for a change and talked to my mum for a while, she's not very well so i spent a bit of time with her, i then had a shower and got dressed. I just left the house about 10 to 12 to go to derek's for our last practice before our gigs tomorrow and sunday. I got there at 12 on the dot but we had to wait another 45 mins before shev finally appeared, we practiced about 2 hours but we didnt get a lot done, we practiced the new songs and finally wrote down set parts for the Ska Song, then we decided to make some pieces and bacon, then we had a fight whipping each other with towels, lol that was amusing :) and oh yeah we watched Spongebob Squarepants, that rocked. then it was about 6 o'clock so i packed up my stuff and got the bus home, i got in played the ps2 for a while, had a take away for dinner, then came online to talk to my friends. around 9pm shev and derek came round and talked for a while, laughed at the photos, played around with a wig and listened to Rancid, Pinhead Gunpowder and a band covering the ghostbusters theme :D it was cool to have them over but now im just talking to people and having a rest coz tomorrow is gonna be a long but very fun day. Current mood:  tiredCurrent music: Pinhead Gunpowder - Life During Wartime Wednesday, July 7, 20047:49PM - Today :Dhey, today was quite busy for me actually, i woke up at 10 past 12, late for practice again, lol, so i packed my stuff up and had a bag of crisps and a coke then went to go get a bus. i got there about half 12 and to my surprise shev was early for a change! so we set up the stuff, i brought my sg and shev brought his jazz bass, so we played through the set list for friday and sundays gigs, and im really happy because we're sounding probably at our best right now, we made very little mistakes(if any actually). So we practiced about 2 hours then decided to make some food so we had some pepperoni and ham pizza and some pasta, that was quite nice, oh yeah and we made up this big concoction of salt, sugar, 4 different sauces, pickles, coffee and hot chocolate mix, mayo and about every other thing in derek's cupboard, haha, shev drank some of it, man it was just sick....funny tho. so we couldnt be bothered practicing anymore so we were listening to music and trying to do some insane dance moves, i love practicing, haha. oh yeah i got home and got a call at 10 to 6 from ian, he asked if i wanted to play fives from 6 to 7, so i got my boots and ran down to St.Andrews from my house, i got there just before 6 so we had 2 games of football and i was in the winning team for both of them, i actually played pretty well and the 2nd game was quite funny coz we whipped the other team so badly, we were seeing how many people we could get by before scoring but we really just took the piss outta them, was a well fun day and it just rocked :D whooooooooo!!! Current mood:  crazyCurrent music: Guns N Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine Tuesday, July 6, 200410:48PM - Today...well woke up at 10.30 by the alarm, got up played the ps2 for a while then went for a shower about 1, lol then i got dressed and got some breakfast, i had a stuffed pizza slice and some chips, was lovely, and i basically sat around all day watching tv and playing my acoustic :D was a nice relaxing day, and i went on the pc, e-mail the woman at maxbax promos because 5 days away and still no tickets, so i told her she was incompetent, she told Zynk i have an attitude problem, hahahaha! just talking to burt there, he's back from his cocktail party and pretty mad at me for some reason, oh well back to normal :) also was talking to claire and beth and they want me to come to the Catty on Saturday, im thinking about going, sounds like fun, oh well im getting kicked off now, im off to watch tv, cya!! Current mood: cheerfulCurrent music: Nuground - Its Over Now(Please Excuse Me) 7:20PM - Quiz on Beths Profile.)Name: Garry 5:32PM - Last Night :Dhey, last night was a blast, got beat terribly at pool by ian! argh!! but I was talking to everyone and all the usual people were there, gave Amanda that Pointless Creation cd, thank god coz it sucks, lol. ermm....oh yeah was talking to Andy from FT, he's cool but he didnt have his pink converse trainers on! and was talking to willie and we went down for a game of footy, that lasted about an hour and i scored 2 goals...hit the crossbar as well :( so i was talking to Assunta(emmas little sister) coz emma went home in a moan about something, talked away to her and we were singing Hotel California, lol, and Andy went up at the end of the night and was doing karaoke to Busted, lol he was amazin coz he was just shouting and doing his amazin scream into the microphone hahaha, so me, meesh, koosh and assunta were laughing at that, then after he finished we had to leave, so i was talkin to Beth (she so cool!) and her friend who i dont know her name, lol, and me and beth dragged her along the floor at the town centre, hahaha was amazing! then i got to the bus stop and met Tony from Lunar, they suck btw, was talking to him seeing how the band was going and he said he got a new Encore Strat but is saving up for a new and better guitar, good luck to those guys, mega nice guys, ermm...oh yeah some little people like 13 or 14 recognised me from the band, that was kinda cool, and said they're coming to the gig on friday :D it's gonna rule coz i love kicking buckets and ant hill mob i haven't heard but they're punk so whooooooooooo!!! monday night was pretty damn cool!! cya Current mood: excitedCurrent music: Me First And The Gimme Gimmes - I Believe I Can Fly Monday, July 5, 20042:11PM - Yesterday......hi, yesterday was kinda crap because of the rain!!! it was pouring and i didn't wanna get soaked so i just stayed in all day and talked to people on MSN, also i got out the PS2 and had a shot of some games, i hardly ever play it but i was playing Gran Turismo and then Smackdown 3 for some reason :S well anyways that was fun :) today so far i woke up with a headache, took the dog a walk, set off my hayfever and guess what? it's raining again!! oh well..going to the key tonight, cya tomorrow! Current mood: tiredCurrent music: Green Day - Welcome To Paradise Saturday, July 3, 20049:09PM - Today, full of rockingly rockness!Hey, today was pretty good, woke up at 12 to realise i was supposed to be at band practice, lol, so i quickly packed up my stuff and got a bus to derek's house, we then went down to shev's to help him with his amps then carried them up to dereks house, we set all the stuff up and played straight for about 2 hours, lol, we were practicing for the battle of the bands we're playing on the 9th, and personally i think we sounded brilliant today! which is good, we're just perfecting the new songs. That was all fun, then we went downstairs to make a pizza, since derek was cooking he ended up filling the kitchen with smoke, hahahaha! and we played keepy uppy with a toilet roll(un-used of course ;)) and then a plastic thing which hurt a lot, lol. also we challenged each other to kick yourself in the face with one foot and hop around in a circle with the other one, very hard but amazingly funny, haha! we ended the practice and derek went to work, i came home, had some home-made soup for dinner then came online to talk to my friends. see ya tomorrow! Current mood: cheerfulCurrent music: Green Day - F.O.D 5:43PM - Last night ruled!!Last night i went up the key early(around 5) to go help set up for the band night, it was me, kev, rushy, deek and wilson who set up the P.A, drum kit, amps and everything but really kev was the only one who knew how to work everything, we had fun setting it up and it was a battle of the bands night!! Zynk, Downstory and Urban Poetry were playing..at 7 the doors opened and in came all my friends so i talked to emma and that for a while, then Neil came in so i had a long chat with him, he's really cool and we were talking about gigs and stuff. UP played and done pretty well, the Downstory came on and rocked out, but Zynk got a lot of abuse and stuff from the crowd actually rushy ran onstage and hit the guitarist and singer with a wet towel, haha! that was quite funny.. and then after i'd finished helping take all the equipment downstairs i walked emma, fubu and katie home and waited at the bus stop to go home. Also 2 girls walked by said hi, i said hi back and talked to them for about 5 mins then actually made out with the hot blonde one! that made my night!! oh well, got home put an Urban Poetry badge on my guitar strap and went to bed :) Current mood: amusedCurrent music: NOFX - Franco UnAmerican Friday, July 2, 20048:37AM - Yesterday, it sucked...Hi, i didn't do much yesterday, there was supposed to be a band practice but we all cancelled because we couldn't really be bothered, hehe :) so i decided to stay in and write a few songs, i didn't get very far and i kept just playing that cool football game on Miniclip.com, it's well good! I also talked to Ali again, she's pretty cool and she didn't go into Troon like she was going to. Oh yeah i also got in touch with Derek, my mate and drummer for the band. We've got 2 gigs next week, one at the key, it's a battle of the bands so it should be fun, that Friday the 9th..and oh yeah we're playing at the Barfly with a few bands on the Sunday, i cant wait for both of them, all my friends are coming and it's gonna rock!!!!!!! well im off to get some breakfast since i didn't sleep too well, cya!
